3 stone lost in 8 weeks.
After passing the milestone of being 40 years old and a decade of relative inactivity due to work and family commitments I needed a kick up the backside and a kick in the right direction. Thankfully, Non was there to give me both. The initial target was losing two stone on her eight-week plan and this was achieved only a week after the target date. Non kept everything simple and took me back to basics in terms of exercising and eating habits.
I hadn't realised until I spoke to her the importance of my diet - one of the main lessons I learned was that you cannot out-run a bad diet. Following Non's plan, I knew what to eat, when to eat and how often to eat. I also knew when to exercise. Combining both disciplines, the weight dropped off, clothes began to fit again and I felt healthier. It also proved to be the starting point for a healthier lifestyle. After successfully reaching my weight target after nine weeks, I began to set other targets in my life.
I completed my first 50-mile and 100 mile bike rides within six months and I am now looking forward to a 320-mile charity bike ride from Boston to New York. None of this would have been possible without making that first decision to follow Non's eight-week plan - it changed my mindset and my way of life. Give it a go and go for it.
